Boards that Bless

Board service means power and influence, praise and recognition, right? Not according to Jesus. Jesus led with a different mentality and demands that same mentality from his followers today – one of Trinitarian unity and servanthood.
So how can today’s nonprofit boards function in a way that reflects the leadership style of Jesus?
In this workshop, we’ll examine the unique perspective of 15th century Russian Orthodox monk, Andrei Rublev, who depicted the mystery of the Godhead in, “Icon of the Old Testament Trinity.” This beautiful and unusual painting depicts the Father, Son and Spirit not in a hierarchy, but rather in radical togetherness. Understanding this painting's scriptural message will radically alter your board’s leadership and their entire approach to service and ministry!
We’ll also examine a specific model for board leadership that is grounded in the scriptures and derived from decades of Mission Increase Foundation experience interacting with nonprofit boards. This model has direct implications for day-in and day-out board leadership in our high demand culture.
Topics will include:
- Ways to identify and recruit spiritually mature board members
- Theological foundations for board leadership
- The role your board should play in and out of meetings
- How to create organizational policies that will guide your ministry toward success
- Board micromanagement traps and the fallout to expect if you don’t avoid them
- The 5 models of board leadership, where your current board fits, and what that means for the future of your organization.
Don’t leave wishing your entire team was there; register and attend with your entire board for maximum results! This workshop is for anyone who plays a leadership role within your organization including board chairs, executive directors, staff members, and volunteers. This is a don’t-miss event!
